SAUMA was established in 1999 and currently has over 80 members. SAUMA is fully supported by the FSB and is the only line of communication between FSB and Underwriting Managers.  SAUMA has ongoing Communication with the Ombudsman - both FAIS and Short Term.  SAUMA Board Members have recently attended Parliament to state the case of the UMA. Rory Gainsford is the current chairman.


AA Travel Guides

AA Travel Guides is the largest online accommodation and travel database in South Africa for accommodation in hotels, B & B's, guest houses, self-catering chalets and apartments, lodges, game and nature reserves throughout South Africa; including Cape Town, the Garden Route, Knysna, George, Durban, Sun City, Sabi Sands, and the Kruger National Park. We also cover accommodation in Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Malawi, Seychelles,   Zambia, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland.



Since 1949 Fedhasa has been representing the South African Hospitality Industry on a local, Provincial, national and global level to protect the interests of all stakeholders of the industry, thereby enabling members to achieve their objectives.



GHASA was established in 1992 when a group of establishment owners got together to promote the guest house industry.

In 2000, GHASA became a private company, known as Guest House Association of SA (Pty) Limited, also incorporating the Self-Catering Registry of SA which has its own website.

Over the past 19 years, GHASA has become well known as experts in quality guest house accommodation, offering many benefits, assistance and valued advice to members, as well as booking opportunities for travellers.
